The Great British Insulation Scheme is sometimes referred to as GBIS, and was formerly called ECO+. The scheme operates alongside the ECO4 scheme to provide energy efficiency solutions for homes.
GBIS is designed to assist lower income households by providing funding for improved insulation. This scheme is currently running from 2023 to March 2026.
The idea behind GBIS is to cut the amount of fuel it takes to heat homes in the UK. If you use less energy, your bills will be cheaper month after month.
Upgrading homes so that they are more energy efficient is the best way of reducing household energy use and cutting heating bills. Many older homes lack good insulation, meaning that heat is escaping through the walls and roof. Superior insulation will keep the inside of homes warmer, and heating systems won’t have to work as hard thus lowering bills.
